My hair is long and straight. Not fine just very soft and silky. I want to curl it but it never holds very long? Is there any tricks or good hair products like rollers or things that I can use to get it to stay all day.. Just not wanting to get a perm. It is bad for the hair. Please all advice is needed. Thanks

i have the EXACT same hair! long and straight, soft and silky.
what worked for me was taking a shower at night, sleeping with curlers, and hair spray in the morning.
the curls stayed in all day and they looked more natural than using a curling iron.

Vidal Sasson hair rollers are good. They are electronic and they are instantly hot as soon as you plug it in. What you need to do is apply conditioners before you use any hair rollers so the heat doesn't dry out the hair too much. Seperate your hair into four parts-fringe,left front, right front and back. Make sure you don't grab too much hair each tme. Wait for 8 to 10 seconds each time. After you finish the whole head, use a little mud/clay to hold the hair. It should help you last the rest of the day. Bedhead clay and mud are also a good choice. I use them all the time.

I too have long hair and often hot roll it. I wash my hair and put in a extra hold moose usually like Treseme brand because it seems to hold better. Blow dry, let my hair set for ten minutes so it can cool off and then hot roll and leave the rolls on an extra ten minutes. My hair stays curly and pretty for 2 days even after sleeping on it.

THIS REALLY WORKS...dry your hair and than before you put a rooler on each strand spray a brush with hairspray and go through the strand and do it with every chunk of hair and in the morning flip your hair down and spray it again not too much!!=] hope i helped!

i have the same hair problem as you, plus my hair is fine...
i find that hair spray and mouse some how help...put curlers in the hair and blow dry, i find sleeping with the curlers dont work as the curlers come undone in my sleep and hair looks messy.
i agree with you, not to perm
my hair holds better after i have highlights.

Keep the rollers on overnight. That should do the trick.
