If you quit school now, you deny yourself the chance to get a decent job later.. This does'nt help your family..
Education does..

Best of Luck

Why do you feel like your family needs you at home? What is going on that you would make such a rash decision such as quiting school? You can use the edit button and add more details to your question.

The reason I ask is that there must be a reason you feel this way.... is someone ill? Money tight? Problems at home? There is help available for these situations where quiting school can be prevented. Giving up school may be a short term solution but doing so will affect your life forever so you need to seriously weigh the odds and talk with someone more muture than yourself to make this decision.

To be honest no matter how things are at home and how grown up you feel that you are, you still need this time in your life to grown and learn because this is the only time you have if you wait until you are an adult to get back this time you will be the responsible party with no one else to depend on and that could be determental to your life. I urge you to speak with your counselor at school before making any decisions, be honest and explain what your reasons are because they will be able to aid you in finding the resources you need whatever your situation.

Good luck!

Do you plan to be with them for the rest of your life? Without finishing school, you may as well plan to be. Why does your family "need" you at home with them? School is about 6.5 to 7 hours a day....there are plenty of other hours in a day. Spend those with your family. Get up early and have time before the day begins. Come home straight from school.

I'm wondering, though....what kind of issues do you have at home that you WANT to be at home more than finishing school? Do you have any adults at school whom you can talk with and discuss this? I would assume not...usually if you've made relationships at the school, you wouldn't ever consider not finishing. Seek out an adult---talk with someone about your concerns. See what guidance they can provide.

Does your family think having you home would be a great idea? What is their interpretation of this? I would hope that your family would encourage you to finish. You have only a short time left, but your future will be so limited by a choice to drop out now. Please, reconsider and think long and hard before you decide to drop out. It's nearly impossible to get back in.....and when you get older and have more adult issues facing you, you'll realize why you should have stayed.

First off. My name is Mathew Zorn. I am currently going to college to get my education in teaching elementary. Secondly, it is very important that you get a high school diploma. It will be hard for you to find a job that doesn't require a diploma, at least a high paying job. You only have two years left of school, which will be over before you know it. I have been out of high school for two years now and it feels like I just stepped into my freshman year. Your family will need you more in the long run then right now. It may feel that you are needed now, but when you are able to go out there and get a good paying job to support your family because you have a high school diploma, they will appreciate you more because you didn't give up and you got your diploma. When and if you ever have kids, maybe you already do, do you want your kids to grow up thinking that they can quite school and be a drop out because their father(assuming by the way your picture is) dropped out? I don't want my children to think that. I want my children to have the best. Which means I have to strive for the best to give my children a better life than I had growing up, let me tell you it was pretty hard and my mother tried everything she could before she divorced my father, to keep the marriage together and keep the family strong. But it made my two brothers and my mother stronger. Keep your hopes and dreams high and don't seattle for nothing lower. One more thing before I go, how would you feel if you went up to a hot girl(guy if your a female) and told him/her that your a high school drop out. They will already assume that you don't have hopes of having a good life. Keep your options open and never settle for the worse.

I hope this helps you and in the long run, if you stay in school, you will think upon this response and will be glad that you listened to the advice I gave you. In the end the only person that has the final say is YOU.

Only if you want to spend the rest of your life working $h!t jobs that pay minimum wage or maybe a bit more and end up living below the poverty line, never being able to get ahead. These days a high school diploma isn't enough to get a decent job with decent pay, so you should get that diploma and either go to college or get some training in a skill that will enable you to get a job that pays well and has good benefits. You'll be doing right by your family by investing in your future.

Ultimately, you will be of more help to your family with an education and an income that can support yourself and perhaps them than you will be spending time at home now. That being said you might explore some alternatives that may or may not be available where you live. There are programs that send high school students to the local community college to take some course work there, there are continuation programs, there are night school programs. Perhaps with some guidance from someone at school you may be able to develop an education program that will allow you to continue your education and at the same time help out at home.

No matter how much your family may need you - you need an education. If you feel as though finishing school is not an option for you talk to your principal, guidance counselor or a teacher about getting your GED. Also, consider telling your family what you're thinking you may find that as much as you think they need you, they actually want you to finish school. It's hard to have any type of job that you can live on without at least a high school diploma or the equivilant. Good luck.

I promise you that you will be able to help your family more when you have a highschool diploma. Think about YOUR future. I'm a freshman in college and I understand that you may be having a rough family time right now but just know that an education is irreplaceable and will take you to higher paths in life. Finish school, I'm sure its what your family really wants. After Highschool, or even college/tech school, you will have better resources to help your family. You only have 2 years left, and those years will fly by, if you quit now it would be like the two years of highschool that you already spent were a waste of time. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE finish school and insure a good life for yourself.

NO!!!!!!!!don't quit school. In this country now, you cannot get a decent paying job unless you have a college scholarship, and have majored in something besides partying. You will do your family proud if you go to college and further you education. Don't sweat the money problems, there are many grants that can help you with this. Stay in school, if you do you will have no regrets.

Please don't quit school.

So many young people do this, promising themselves or their families that they'll get a GED later, but later many are unable to, as they are working, etc.

If your family wants you to quit school, in this one case, I would say they cannot be thinking of your best interests.

People are always able to think of examples of famous and successful people who did quit high school and then went on to succeed later in life, but these examples are so rare and unusual that they are the ones people always seem to remember! It's not that it is a common thing....these examples are remembered because they are so surprising! Very difficult to have success in life without at least a high school education. And almost impossible to further your schooling without high school graduation.

I promise you, your life will be better if you graduate from high school.
