You should find out if you can take the test before you go on vacation. If you can't, just ask one of your teachers to talk to your friends mother or have the principal sign something saying that it would be perfectly fine if you both took the test when you came back. And try to schedule the makeup for it a few days after you come back in case your friends mother is worried that you won't be back in time. If she still doesn't let her go then her daughter missing the test isn't the only issue. You should also have your father talk to her if she's worried about other things. But have someone else as a backup plan that you know can go, just in case. Make sure you let them know that it's only if your other friend can't make it though.

I say give her the numbers of the teachers you talked to so she can find out for herself that you two are not lying!
If she doesn't call, then she probably has other reasons besides some silly test, that she doesn't want her to go. If you two have been in any trouble together, then she may not want her to go for that reason as well. You know how parents can be about stuff like that.
I suggest the calling the teachers and also, have your Dad call her and explain the whole trip to her. Tell him to make sure that she knows that she will be in good hands and well taken care of and looked after.
Hope this helps and hope you guys have fun! ♥

I think this mom has her daughters best interest at heart..schooling is more important. You cannot put off education...you cannot get a good career unless you have a good education. Maybe see if your dad can adjust the time that you are gone...that way she can go to both, or find a different friend. If it were my daughter I'd also not let her go because the test is nothing to "blow off" for a vacation.

ask for your teachers confirmation letter for you to show the mom of your friend, to make sure that your teachers agree that you will be going out and might miss the test for just one day and have the test when you came back from florida.
teachers give letters to their students regarding about that

Unless you can take the test before the trip, I doubt that she's going to give in. You could try securing a formal retesting date through your teachers, so that she can be more reassured that the test can be retaken.
But it's clear that her priority is her daughter's education, and eventual college I would assume. She's not likely to compromise on any pleasure trip that could jeopardize that.
