sorry i will explain-when i go onto a forum, an imformation box appears and says 'data source is empty or invalid'---'repeater,pnlhier,archierare'. i can not continue untill i repeatedly click the redbox marked with a 'X'. this happens everytime i want to post a messege

If you're trying to perform a mail merge, your data source refers to the database or spreadsheet that you're getting the information from.
As the question doesn't supply me with too many details, I'll assume that you either copied/moved a mail merge file from its orginal folder to a new folder or the data source (excel spreadsheet/access database) was moved.
The quickest way to remedy this is to open your Word document, go to View | Toolbars | Mail Merge, and select the second icon from the left (open data source). Look for the spreadsheet that contains your data.
If you don't have a data source, create a new one containing the fields that you need and just re-map the whole document to those fields.

Its the source of all your data,
Seriously, Its a connection a program makes to either a file or 'server program' to acquire information,
If it says its empty or Invalid It usually means the source itself has not being created or there is no data in it.

Normally it relates to a collection of data that you collected.
