This is an issue about which most men have strong opinions, either for or against. There seem to be few men who are undecided about whether or not is is proper to let their sons look at their naked bodies. On the other hand, there is a near-universal need, or at least curiosity, on the part of sons to see their fathers naked and specifically to look at his penis. The questions are: "What is wrong with a boy wanting to see his father's penis?" and "Why would a father object to his son seeing his penis?"

My roommate was raised as a nudist. She, her mom, her dad, and her brothers are all routinely nude when they are at home together. They are a very close-knit family. My roommate feels that they have a special bond amongst themselves because of tehir lifestyle. "When you're always naked, what can you hide from eachother?" she jokes.

I've visited with her family many times and I can totally understand why she feels the way she does. No one has any hesitation to do or say anything and no matter what someone says or does they are respected for it.

The first time I met the family in a nudist context was a little weird. She and I had been rooming together for about three months and I had met her mom and dad several times. At this point I had been sleeping nude (or her lead) for about 10 weeks and I was starting to get used to the idea of being naked around her. She suggested we go visit her family's camp for the weekend (and warned me that everyone would probably be naked the whole time). When I got to the camp everyone was, in fact, naked. I didn't want to feel out of place, so I took my clothes off right away, but I felt totally weird talking to her dad. I think he sensed that and started telling jokes. I was laughing my *** off and felt like I was his daughter within minutes!

My opinion is that if you see nudity like something natural and you feel comfortable being nude in presence of other people, it's perfectly right going naked in front of your kids.
That will help them to know better their bodies and assume their own nudity as something natural.
I think family nudity is a healthy practice.
A penis is only a penis, and a naked body is only a naked body.

No. I don't think they should be naked in front of their daughters either . Leave the nudity exposure for the adults. It use to bother me when I was a child and I saw either of my parents naked . Maybe that's why I'm a homophobic now .
