I am working on a horror script and need input to make it a potential award winning screenplay. I tell the story of a man with a family. His two children are emotionally shut off and his wife is detached by choice and situation to her husband's actions. The family home may aesthetically appear pleasing but below, below the floors lies the physical representations of her husbands demons. The husband of this women, the father of these two children has several children below the floor. Barely alive and terrified their attempts to escape this husband, this father, this monsters molestation and murder are futile. As our monster becomes more powerful, more disilusioned his daughter leads a battle to bring her dad to justice as his wife at every point denys allegations
What do you think? I am only eighteen but I want somethinf that coudl win at sundance, academy awards. Give me scenarios, events, character developments, names

I like to think of myself as a writer as well, and have about 56 short stories and one screenplay under my belt. I am 27, and can only tell you this...
If you are 18 and speak as clearly as you do, using the words that you have used here, I can't help you. The reason is because you are smart and well-versed enough to do this. I would keep any further details to yourself, until you get it copyrighted, lest someone steal your ideas. I hope someday I'll get to sit in a theater and watch this, as it sounds great already! Good luck!

by utilising primary instruction manual regulations, 25 pages is 25 minutes of exhibit screen time. could you prefer to take a seat down with the aid of very practically a million/2 an hour of a horror action picture till now something remotely horror-ish is even *hinted* at? i do no longer think of so. whether you're no longer stepping into the beef of it precise away, the foreshadowing and foreboding needs to be there. Take "The Mist", which became into accompanied from Stephen King's novel. no longer something is revealed for a on a similar time as, yet nonetheless in the beginning up a creepy typhoon rolls in, sirens commence going off, some human beings commence screaming approximately something having befell in the fog, etc. you may desire to drop in some tricks, create some environment, and build rigidity - precise off the bat. Audiences could desire to be responsive to they are in for a horror action picture as quickly because of the fact the credit roll, and it is going to all build from there. the biggest piece of suggestion i provide you with is to handle your self to a horror action picture marathon and take some notes. except...possibly you're meant to place in writing an action/comedy? Is that what feels organic to the story and those first 25 pages are stable and appear like they could make a promising action picture? possibly your very own writing's attempting to tell you something.

wow, that seems good for an 18 year old. good job, why don't you go to the library and look into books that are horror stories, and try to get some ideas from them. and the names, I would make up, don't use names of people you know. good luck. I hope you do get an award you will do great.

Sounds almost like AN AMERICAN HUNTING. If you plan to write and direct the film good. If you just want the script out, I think you need to leave more room for the imagination. Dont tell to much just show us.

I don't know. In the script, he is molesting and murdering the children he keeps under the floor. But, are they his kids? Are they kids he has snatched? Does he molest/abuse his own kids?
You will need to reconcile the fact that he molests and murders kids he has under the floor with the fact that he has kids that are not under the floor.

Look, all that you have asked will take a very long time, and is not for this answer column. Even if I gave the details , I would keep the credits for myself!

So long as you're not describing your own life, it sounds like you've got a decent plot.
