Perhaps it is time to stop spewing hate at our fellow Americans and start uniting to work together to create a country we can all live in and be proud of.

I agree, but how do we do we get everyone to just begin to listen to each othe, instead of attacking each other. For example: There are differences of opinion over the abortion issue. The problem is not that we have differing opinions about the issue itself, the problem is that some of us don't believe that it is the governments place to legislate. It doesn't mean that Liberals are all gung ho in favor of abortion, it just means that we believe that the decision should be left to the woman and her doctor, and if applicable, her husband.

We don't begrudge anyone's opinion, even if it differs from ours...what we begrudge is the idea that conservatives want to turn their ideas of morality into ledgislation. We believe that people have the right to live as they chose as long as they are not harming others.

We also believe in a level playing field. Many Conservatives think that equal opportunity exists in this country, and if someone can't make it, it is their own fault. They also seem to believe in that survival of the fittist idealogy. Every man or woman for him or herself, They are not their brother's keeper, people with money are superior to people without, We are all separate, there is not enough to go around so they better get all they can, and to hell with the rest of us, if we end up with only scraps. This is the kind of mindset I keep hearing from conservatives, and they act like they are sooooo proud of it, too! It boogles the mind!!! If both sides could just begin to listen to each other, and agree that we will always disagree on some things, maybe we could at least find SOME common ground, and stand united against any tyranny that might come about!!!!

I am already proud of my country and proud to be an American. However I do agree that it would nice if we could tone down the rhetoric and show respect for each other even when we don't agree. This will never happen though. It is just the nature of politics. People have different opinions and they are passionate about them. So it was in the past, so it shall be in the future.

My personal feeling is that it is time that we as Americans and Citizens of this country read the original Declaration of Independence and the Original Constitution for their original intended meaning and not our interpretation of their meanings to suet our personal needs. We as Americans should work together as a whole to better this country and not push our beliefs on any other country. That was the core underlying principal for which this nation was founded. I agree with forming alliances with other nations but we have no right to tell that nation how it should govern its people. If everyone in the world would realize that there is no such thing as rights and that everything in life is a privilege and would look at life as a privilege I believe everyone would get along much better in the world.

Now to the libs I just ticked off with this statement. There is one right you have that can not be taken away from you by anyone. That is the right to die. No one can keep you alive forever. As for everything else in life you consider rights, including that document called The Bill of Rights, can be taken away from you at anyone’s will. For example, If someone puts a gun to your head and pulls the trigger, they took away from you everything you consider rights. Therefore they were privileges to begin with, however you did not give them the satisfaction of taking away all your privileges, you exercised your right to die.

I agree, but there's a boatload of disagreement over what needs to change to make us proud of our country.

Funny you will email people - and then so they can't respond you'll take your email off.

And in response to your last email to me - Killing Kurds is not 'cute' (your word).

And it's true. You don't have enough information (good information anyway) to make such a statement.

I'm trying to make logically constructed questions and answers, using facts when available to do just that. It doesn't seem to be working very well. Hmmm - I'll just keep at it anyway.
