Despite the cynicism of the previous answerer their answer is fundamentally correct. Our Constitution is such an incredible document & is as functional now as when it was conceived over 200 years ago.

Many folks have grown skeptical recently for a variety of reasons. The biggest one is probably the lack of knowledge about how our system actually works. Sadly it is not on the curriculum in schools anymore.

Our government of the people , by the people , & for the people is still alive & well . There are certainly challenges before us, but that is nothing new. So many of our fellow Americans have so much , they have no idea what adversity our people have faced & overcome thru history.

And the advent of the internet while a fantastic resource, also facilitates the dissemination of an incredible volume of misinformation that is taken as fact by far too many.

I've traveled to other countries & they have problems too.....that is not something uniquely American....but our government still allows us more freedoms & opportunities than any other.

The reason it's been two hours since you asked the question and I'm the first one to attempt an answer should tell you that nobody has a clue. Fact is the United States government is not particularly great. The basic premise of the Constitution of the United States is good....and basically that's why we SHOULD have the best government...but once politicians and religious factions get involved it all goes south in a hurry!
