Judges do not make SSI determinations - state/federal governments [Disability Determinations and Social Security] do.
After award it usually takes 30-45 days....read your notice of eligibility

about 6 weeks, they will appear in your bank account, THEN the letter will come stating it will be sent shortly.
They also come at two different times, the backpay may take longer.

The check itself should start right away. The back pay is a different issue. For that, you might have to follow a different sets of tasks.

My mom started getting her monthly installments right away, but she's still waiting for the retroactive payments. It's been months!

Several months is not unusual. You can contact your US Congressman for assistance if it has been longer than that.
