Its called having an educated debate! Trust me honey I know my American History by getting your comments I could show them here at work what others know. Thank you to everyone else who posted great answers sorry to ask such a "lame" question again I wanted to share your thoughts with everyone here.

I hate that I don't have a definite answer, but I have heard the same thing as well. My father has an old, tattered book at home called "The Black Presidents." I have never really had the chance to read it, but he tells me that it claims that many of our old American presidents descended from blacks, including Abe Lincoln. This requires A LOT of further investigation.

No, he was not. However, his biological mother, Nancy Hanks (who died when Lincoln was very young, and his father subsequently remarried), is a distant relative of the Hollywood actor Tom Hanks. This is fact. Anyway, I have read some questions asking if Lincoln was gay. I don't know why people spend valuable time debating things like this (or someone's heritage) when there are so many other things about the individual that are worth discussing, such as his great contribution to history.

no lol he was all white lol u tell if u read his writings he was against slavery yes but in no way did he think they were his equals in any right
Make Negroes politically and socially our equals? My own feelings will not admit of this. I will say that I am not nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not nor have ever been in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people. And I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And in as much as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior. And I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.

if he was part black then he would have been fighting for their rights

No, Abraham Lincoln was not part African American... He did however do a huge part in ending slavery which freed a lot of African Americans, but he himself was not.

Quite amusing, really. Right up there with the question another person posed yesterday: whether rob't. e lee was asian, since "only asians have the family name lee"

Since most of us are a mixture of so many possibilities, why not? I'm sure it wouldn't have been found troublesome by him!!
