depends on how bad the fart was. Some can linger up to 5 minutues or more.

about 30 seconds...but if you stay in the same position after farting it will seems like minutes...so make a quick get away after you have off-load a stinkie.

I think it depends on what you have ate and whether you have been drinking... I've smelled some five to ten minutes after leaving the room and coming back...
