I'm about your size and was with both my pregnancies... you're actually lucky to feel the baby moving so soon! The reason it's infrequent right now is because there's way more amniotic fluid than there is baby at the moment... so if you think of it like a little pea floating around in a medium-sized balloon full of water... and shake the balloon around a bit to simulate movement... that pea hitting the actual confines of the balloon isn't going to feel like much, even if it hits where you're holding that balloon. So alot of the time, the baby's movement won't even be felt, considering right now, the baby might not even be touching one of the walls when he/she moves right now - when he/she *is* touching, that's the flutters! *smile* As the baby gets bigger and his/her living space becomes a tighter fit, the little limbs will be constantly poking, kicking and rolling against the walls of her little home, and that's when you'll start feeling it all the time! Nothing to worry about! Be happy that you're one of the lucky ones that feel it so soon!

I was normally a size 8 and started feeling movement such as you describe at 17-18 weeks but nothing constant like you said. I did not start really feeling things on a daily basis until about 20wks. My best friend a normal size 16 did not feel anything until wk 23 of her pregnancy. I really think it is based on the individual, weight may have something to do with it in some people but not all. She is also an NP and figured her weight was the reason for the late feelings...I am now the proud mom of a 4 month old and am holding steady at a size 12...I also packed on 60lbs during my pregnancy.

I'm 21 weeks and just recently started feeling the flutters (at 18 weeks) .. sometimes he kicks .. then doesn't for a day or so .. but, I figured out how to get him to kick! (or at least feel it!)
I drink a hot cup of de-caf coffee and let my bladder fill up .. BOOM .. he's awake and dancing on my bladder!
I don't know if it's the warmth .. or the fact that my bladder is full .. but I feel him bouncing in there!
I think he moves all the time (very active on his sonograms) .. but I just tend to feel it when my bladder is full.
also, I'm a size 10 and I've felt the baby kick lots! and my friend who is a size 5 is only 1 week behind me and she hasn't felt anything!
PS - size 14 really isn't that big .. you're in the normal range of size so you'll feel the kicks just like everyone else :)
good luck! God bless.

I felt the baby move for the first time at 14 weeks, but then went a few weeks with nothing. I started feeling consistent movement at around 20 weeks and he keeps getting more and more active by the day. Sometimes I almost wish he would fall asleep or something, I feel like a crazy person at work when I'm standing talking with a colleague and my pregnant belly is visibly moving, hahahaha. I'm sure I will miss that when he's born. Congratulations on your third child!!!

I'm 22 weeks (will be 23 on Saturday) pregnant with my first baby. I am 5'1 and I weighed 150 lbs. when I got pregnant and I felt the first movements at 16 weeks. Now they are much more frequent, especially at certain times of the day and when I'm laying down, my husband even felt the baby kick on Monday (I had to hold his hand in place and push down but he felt it twice)! That was exciting. Personally, I don't think size is a really big issue unless you are really overweight.

Let me tell you what my dr told me when I was pregnant with my first he said that "fluttering" feeling i had in the first 20 wks was gas. That I wouldn't feel the baby that soon. Whatever it was the baby. Remember as the baby grows the kicking and pressure will be stronger. I'd say about 6 months the kicks would be MORE frequent.

Let me make it clear before I say this .... I AM NOT TRYING TO HURT YOUR FEELINGS.
I am was a *sz 18* when I got pregnant (baby is 2mths) and yes size does play a factor in your feeling the baby move. The women that are a *sz 2 (ex)* will feel the baby move sooner then a woman that is a *sz 14*. I felt the first feel kicks at around 21wks .. and they were pretty frequent then.
After all ... the DR says that you are not going to start feeling the baby get very active until around wk 20 - 22.
Hope that answers your questions .... CONGRATS and GOOD LUCK

You will start feeling them more often in the next few weeks! Your size has nothing to do with it. You just might not be able to feel the kicks from the outside of your stomach until a bit later than smaller ladies.
Congratulations :)

in my first pregnancy i didnt feel anything until about 4 and a half months. but with my second i felt them real early i would say around 12 weeks. from my experience i would definately say that it has nothing to do with your size or your weight , but from these movements you can already see that your baby will be very active like my youngest son who never sits down.
wish you all the best xx

most commonly, most women dont fell them frequently until 26 weeks thats why your dr doesnt have you do kick counts until after 28 weeks, it depends on not only you but the baby. It depends on the size of the baby. The baby may be an active baby, or it may not. also they tend to have a time of the day when you tend to feel them most. i'd say that at this point, you may not feel the baby move for days on end, but that of course doesnt mean the baby isxn't moving you just arent feeling it.
Good Luck!
