Actually, unlike our good ol' Health textbooks say, there is not a set-in-stone time that women ovulate. Most women ovulate 12-16 days before their period starts. For women who have irregular cycles, this is very hard to keep track of.

I'd recommend you start taking notes (or charting) your fertility signs, to find out exactly where things happen within your cycles. It's very interesting, and a great way to know what is happening in your body. (see my sources for some great information).

Best of Luck to you!

Most woman ovulate lets just say in between 9-14 days after menstration that is if your regular, if your irregular then you may ovulate at different times each cycle it could be during your period, right after your period ect......
Best thing to do would be to chart your cycle each month so you can check for certain patterns through out your cycle each month.
Also Chart your BBT( basal body temperature) at the same time every morning befor even getting out of bed..It should stay the same then after you have ovulated your temp will spike a bit and stay higher until your period arrives then it will go back down to it's normal temp.
You can also Get an ovulation predictor kit to better predict ovulation..
