The numbers 13 is composed by the numbers one and three. The symbolism of those numbers was developped in the old time by Greeks .For them the number 1 represent the begining of the all numbers and so the begining of the univers, the cosmos, the soul and the man.God have created Adam the first man and after Eve the first woman.Islam was a religion of the first, one God whitout sons, brothers, mother ...ect.The number 3 was adopted by christian religion ,opposit for islamic religion, for christian the world, cosmos and anyone in the earth is 3 ,and the christianism see God is 3 ,the fater, the son and the holy spirit. They are ethnolyst who believ the numbers 3 was a holy numbers in celtic civilisation and we have three visage of godeness berget...The combination of the number 1 and the number 3 =13 was considered in medieval time a devil day because theologien consider at that time Islam was represented by the number 1 and christian by number 3 and the combination of the two it's impossibl (Today we not speak of opposition between Islam the number 1 and Christian the number
3 but we use the term of the clash of civilistion), and this equation friday 13 is considered a devil combination. The most muslims don't accept the number 3 because he is a symbol of the trinity and christian don't understand the muslim number 1 is the God "Allah".

In the pre-Christian religions the calendar was based on the lunar months which number 13 in each year.

Christians replaced this with a calendar containing 12 months (12 being considered a sacred number) and tried to discredit the old tradition by telling people that anything to do with the number 13 was bad.

Hypochrisy anyway because some Christian feast days are moveable and calculated according to the moon, e.g. Easter.

I am not sure why it is unlucky, the number 13 is my lucky number and you know whats so funny Friday is my lucky day as well. Instead of having bad luck i get good luck. Maybe it is because of a superstition.

There is no such thing as luck. Good Luck or Bad Luck. This is all superstitious rubbish.

How can a number or a day or anything be 'unlucky'?

Life is what you make it. It is time that we all grew out of these silly superstitions.

If you choose any number or day and look hard enough over a long enough period you will find similar incidents happening either 'good' or 'bad' or whatever you are looking for.

Women living in a natural environment tend to have their menses during a full moon. A twenty-eight day menstruation cycle is most typical, so a woman usually has 13 menses in a year. Supposedly, in the past, a woman who "bled" during a full moon might be thought a witch. The fear of women's connection to the moon, through worship of the Great Goddess, as well as the unscientific association of the full moon with mental disorders has, according to this theory, caused the number 13 to be seen as bad luck, and connected to the powerful supernatural forces of women.

13 was not originaly an unluky number. Originaly, the number 13 was usualy the number of main gods in a pantheon. Once Christianity started evolving and demonizing all the original Gods/Goddesses which numbered usualy 13 in any pantheon, they naturaly made up that concept. If you realy pay attention when the number 13 comes up in your life, good things usualy happen, not bad.

Total bunk! A Bakers dozen (13 rolls/loaves to allow for inconsistent sizes of finished product) was once a common practice before `buy one - get one free`! The specific `FRIDAY` and `13th` applies to the demise of the Knights Templar. Friday the 13th of October 1307.
