I live in NJ. And on my W-2 it shows in box 14, "3.00 MIF" and "77.91 UI/HC/WD". I know what the UI/HC/WD is, but what is MIF?

I would be curious to know that too. I have never heard of an MIF deduction. If you are using turbo tax just let them ask you the questions and deal with it as they might. If you are doing a manual filing use as you would UI/HC/WD. I live in NJ by the way and prep taxes fro friends and family.

"You can deduct the $3 surcharge from each subject employee or pay this amount for each subject employee. If you deduct the amount from the employee, you must report the deduction in Box 14 of Form W-2 with a literal of MIF (Malpractice Insurance Fund).
You can start deducting the assessment at any time."
