First; Every time I type a web site I get a message "The specified module cannot be found."
My history is gone and in my history window there is an icon that say's "History. IE5"

I cannot click onto any of my favorites.

I have an instant message come up, but it is a gray box, empty.

I cannot scan my computer with my norton anti virus program.

I can only search the web if I type everything into the Yahoo search engine, once at a web site that does not have a search tool, I have to abort and start a new window?

HELP??? what just happened to my computer????

I tried system restore, but it would not, perhaps that is because I cleared my history????

I believe you have a bad system file. You might also be infected with malware.
Now would be a good time to backup your files. It might be your last opportunity.
I assume you are running XP. IE5??

This step will check your system files against the XP install disc.
Start > Run enter "sfc /scannow" > click OK
After it is finished, restart and retest
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfc.exe /scannow

If this doesn't fix it, perform a REPAIR install. You should not lose data, but backup your files first. Read:

Run "check disk" check both options and restart. (runs a long time)
Run Disk Cleanup then Disk Defragment.

maximum in all danger, that or somebody playing a humorous tale. no longer very humorous! you may bypass to any Anti-virus application internet site and get a loose trial version atleast it will fix that virus and any others for a minimum of 30 days in line with danger as much as ninety staring on the trial version.
