Hormones, too much exercises, stress, trauma. Any of those! As well as being to thin.

I agree with everyone else, it could very well be stress or depression. Also, if you're not eating healthy, that can also be a factor. If you're not stressed, depressed, and you are eating healthy, then just don't worry about it. Periods are just weird and they come and go as they please, especially for the first two years, but even after that, they can be unpredictable. If you skip the next period, I would go to the doctors, just to make sure nothing is up. But really, you shouldn't worry. =]

If you have a late period and a negative pregnancy test, then consider whether or not you’ve recently been sick, gained or lost a significant amount of weight, have been under excessive stress or have taken any new medications. All of these things can affect your menstrual cycle and cause you to have irregular periods. Additionally, certain types of birth control, including the birth control pill, Depo-Provera and Norplant, can cause you to have menstrual cycles disturbances.

If you didnt engage in any sexual activity then it might just be stress thats affecting your period. This is probably normal but if any other health issues come up or this continues just go to a gyno and get a check up to make sure theres nothing serious behind it.

sometimes there's no reason at all!
i wasn't sexually active & didn't have a period for 2 yrs (i was a bit insulted that the first thing they did was give me a preg test!). they put me on the pill just to get my cycles regulated, after doing a ton of blood work & finding everything to be normal. it worked! and i cramped a lot less, & had shorter & lighter periods (than when i did have them)

Stress, illness, weight loss, and other things can make you late. If you worry about pregnancy, do an at-home test. Check with your doctor.

You should still check whether you're pregnant. You may never have realised you had sex. It could also be a blockage somewhere. See a doctor ASAP.

Are you really sure you are not pregnant? Maybe go check it out with the doctor. If you're not pregnant then maybe your hormones are just messing with you.
