What is the diff between castor oil and a pill form laxative? Why does everyone say castor oil will induce labor, I mean wont another laxative.

Don't use either, it is just an old wives tale. It will just upset your stomach. Besides if it did work, would you want to be in that state while in labor?

Some laxatives are harmful when you are pregnant, but otherwise there is no difference in the end result. Very rarely taking castor oil and the resulting cramps from diarrhea will start contractions, but why go through that? The only proven, non hospital way to possibly help start labor is testosterone (have more sex) and nipple stimulation. If you are preggo and want more details on that, email me. Take care.

I think the castor oil idea is an old winves tale. That baby will come out when its darn good and ready.

from what i heard is that you are supose to rub it on your cervex not take it orally wouldn't that hurt the babys nutrition? i don't know i never tryed it b/c both my children came a little early one 6 days early and one 18 days early b/c of preclampsia. well good luck but if i where you i would consult your doctor
