Yes spray tanning is very safe during pregnancy. The spray is made from pure vegetable oil, so it is natural. I would not suggest tanning in a bed though...very unsafe for your unborn fetus. The only thing bad about spray tanning is that it wears off fast if you don't reapply within 5 to 7 days. Also if you get hot and sweat easily it will wear off faster, and make your skin look nasty, like its peeling from a sunburn!!! If you reapply regularly...ITS GREAT!!!

before i got pregnant i was a tanning bed junkie!!!! the owner of the tanning bed swears it's safe to tan in a bed and get a spray on tan b/c neither penetrate the uterus. both tans are only skin deep. I have also read alot on tanning/spray on tans and pregnancy and all say it's safe. unfortunately, even after all this research i have done, my doctor told me "no" so I am white as a ghost right now at 25 weeks pregnant.
here is a good source for you to read

Spray tans are generally safe. Mystic tan used to contain chemicals that were a risk to pregnant women, but they've since re-created their formula so that it no longer contains mercury or retinol. And that was over two years ago.
The other thing to consider when using a self tanner while pregnant is that there's more of a chance to have "splotching".

Some people say yes, some say no... it may entirely depend on the brand. I would recommend looking up the website or 800 number for the brand she wants to use, and call them to ask personally.
I found a site with a similar question regarding one called Mystic Tan... one of the answers to that one, the girl had researched the brand's website, and it had said to "consult a doctor" if pregnant.
Not really my business, but if she's waited this long, what's another two months - just in case it IS harmful?

i would say no to this question, some spray tans have somethink in that is assorbed in to the blood , there is no evedience to say it is unsafe or to say the effects on the human body i can not remebmer the name of the stuff, sorry, , but a self tanning lotion from the shop will be ok. nivia is a good one.
ps if you go and ask at a sallon thay will say it is safe, but they are not told all the info about the spray tan from the supplyer,

I dont know if its safe or not but i would assume that it is NOT safe. Too often women think too much about their apperance when pregnant.(although i can understand that) , She only has to wait a few months. Its not too much to ask for her to put her baby first. She chose to get pregnant so should look after the baby.

you're completely high-quality tanning whilst pregnant, and the child would be high-quality. I advise making use of tanning lotion particularly of tanning oil yet the two continues to be high-quality. in basic terms stay hydrated. have relaxing!
