HI, does having a heavy period for 6 days mean no chance of pregnancy, my period was heavier then normal and i got it 6 days after hvaing sex, we used a condom , and then my period came right when it should have. just wondering because ive been reading on here that some people say you can have your period when your pregnant, I just dont see how that can be if having your period means the egg leaves your body

You can NOT have your period if you're pregnant! You can, however, bleed if you're pregnant. It's called spotting. It has nothing to do with releasing an egg.

I would say you are not pregnant if you got your period on time. Especially if you used a condom. Really there is very little chance....

Pregnant women can't have periods, however they can have vaginal bleeding. Is is not considered or called a period/menses because it is caused by completely different things in the body. First trimester (first 3 month of pregnancy) bleeding can range from light to heavy and it happens in 20-30% of all pregnancies.

If you want to be sure see your Dr. But I doubt that you are pregnant. Good luck!

If you used a condom and it didn't split and you had your period as normal then you are not pregnant. Some people on here would say you 'might be pregnant' to someone who came on and said they were a virgin but feeling a little sick!!!
You are right about how a period works. Some women get a little bleeding early in pregnancy, but most do not, and if you used a condom you will be fine anyway.
Just relax. There is no need to fret about pregnancy simply because you had sex!

Your period is to shed the lining of your uterus and rid the body of extra blood etc.. for a baby when u ovulate the egg leaves the ovary travels etc.. but sometimes more then one is released so the myth u cant get pregnant during ur period - wrong! it is rare that u get a full menses when pregnant it is usually different then ur normal period usually lighter and shorter. im not sure if this answers your question or not but hopefully it helped

You cannot have your period if you are pregnant. You can bleed, yes (spotting), but you cannot have your period. Therefore, since you had your period, I'm pretty sure you're not pregnant.

i read a story about a girl who didnt know she was preganant until she gave birth. a bit silly, but the point still stands that she was having regular periods for the duration of her preganancy. however, this is very, very rare. i have only heard of one case in which this happened. but if you're still worried, take a pregnancy test to put your mind at ease
