When it used to be legal (in some states they are allowed to do it up until 24 weeks) that's 6 months pregnant!!!!!!!! I KNOW you can feel your baby at 20 weeks (I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I've been feeling my little boy since week 16)...how could any normal woman want to abort a child she can feel? I think it's absolutely disgusting. It's bad enough doing it at 4 weeks, let alone a 20 week abortion.

Fear is generally a reason or not wanting to take responsibility or pressure from other people or sources.
A baby at 20 weeks or anything after conception is a life that we are to protect.

Medical associations usually place a limit of 20 or 21 week gestation on abortions. Some states and associations allow later termination if the pregnancy was induced as a result of rape or incest, or if the continued pregnancy would pose a very serious health risk to the woman. One of the main justifications for such a late termination of pregnancy is that the fetus has a severe genetic defect. (Many can't be detected until late in the pregnancy).

I am for abortion but i don't get why anyone would wait until that late but then again it is up to that person to what she wants to do because having an abortion at 8 weeks or 24 weeks is legal.

i am pro choice, but i personally don't think i could have an abortion but i believe no one should look down on anyone else when they do not know their situation. i will agree with you however that an abortion at that advanced stage is disgusting. considering here in the uk a little girl was born (last week i think) at only 21 weeks, and has survived.

I am pro-choice. I believe it is a woman's right to choose if she wants to have a baby or not. But on the same token, I think that if you are going to abort a pregnancy, then it should be done within the first trimester, unless there is a medical complication on either the baby's end or the mother's end that puts either of them in danger. But to terminate a pregnancy that is that far along because you simply "changed your mind" in an unacceptable excuse for that.

I just have to say that Vegans' answer was horrible. How can anyone call a fetus a parasite!!!!!!!!!! I have two children and a sister who cant conceive after loosing her two children in a house fire so when i hear about people having abortions AT ALL i get sick to my stomach. I think children are a special gift even if they are conceived through rape. Im not saying i dont understand why people who are raped do it, but i believe every baby was meant to be somehow and we have no right to decide that that baby should not live.

I think it comes down to personal choice. Some people get pregnant through awful circumstances and dont find out till they are already a few months in, I dont think they do it anymore, but not everyone is in the ideal pregnancy situation

I agree.How selfish is that?So many people want to adopt because they cannot have children.The pregnant one need only give up 9 months of her normal life to give life.In this case,,she only had to give up 4 more months of her normal life to save this child.How could that possibly be legal.2sad.

I might add:fetus has fingerprints @3months.

Although I am pro-choice, I don't believe in abortion after the 3 month mark. If it's done, it should be done as soon as possible.

actually there are some states that allow abortions at any time in a pregnancy. it's legal here in kansas. i guess they just feel differently than you do. plus, if i were going to lose my life over it, i would do it.
