I'll start with the overnight bag. I brought so much stuff I never used so here is what i needed. Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, small shampoo (if you want or you can use the soap there), 2 pairs of pajamas, an outfit to wear home from the hospital for you and baby, socks to wear around the hospital, and last but not least I was really happy I had my pillow. Just remember if you forget something someone can run and get it for you or if available the nurse can get you one.

The baby bag do you mean the diaper bag?? I cannt answer that one very well because I carry way to much better be safe than unprepared.

baby bag - a cute outfit to go home (a sleeper is best for any weather). They will give you clothes and diapers for when they are there, so more than 1 is not necessary. Seriously, that is all you NEED. I have had 3 kids and I have never used all the other stuff that all the articles say you need.
Your bag - underwear, comfy pj type clothes and slippers. Contact stuff or glasses if you need them. And a camera and all your insurance info and friends/family phone numbers (probalby in your cell phone. That is all you NEED.
Makeup if you want it for pictures and stuff. Most of the things they tell you are ridiculous. Basically anything you need for the baby, they give you. Anything else is up to you, but I brought everything on the list from my doc for my first pregnancy and didn't use any of it. My second one I brought the necessities and used them. My third one I didn't bring anything and made my husband bring them along after I had the baby. Maybe I'll have the next one at home. lol. (I'm kidding, there is no next one..I hope)

I just took what I would bring anywhere I was staying overnight. Pajamas, a change of clothing, toothpaste, shampoo etc. I also suggest bringing your own pads..some hospitals still give you ones with no adhesive. For the baby, all you need is an outfit to bring her home in. The hospital supplies a few blankets and diapers.

You can also bring a book or some magazines if you want.
I hated being in the hospital and wearing jammies so a few hours after I delivered, I put on sweatpants and a tshirt. Wear whatever you would normally wear at home when just hanging out.

Dont worry about the diapers or wipes the hospital has plenty of them.. Just bring a couple of outfits for the baby some small ones and some bigger ones.. You never know what size you will need.. Socks for the baby and for you pack some comfy pants and T-shirts.. Dont expect to go home in your prepregnancy clothes it more then likely wont happen.. Plenty of change for the vending machines if the dad is going to be there, and other then that I cant think of anything else that is a must have. Oh wait the baby book got to have that... Best of luck...

For you just pack as if you were going on vacation for a day or 2. I never got out of my PJs (flannel pants and a T-shirt) until it was time to go home and then I put on a pair of maternity pants that fit around 6-7mths and a nice shirt. Make sure to pack a pair of comfortable slippers because they usually want you to get up and walk around to gain your strength back.

If you have a favorite pillow and blanket then I would bring those along with me ... just so your comfortable (that is what it is all about). Change for spouse/parnter to get snacks/drinks from the vending machines. A camera for those perfect photos of the baby coming into the world.

As far as the baby the only thing you really need to worry about packing is a coming home outfit, maybe a few onsies to were while in the hospital, and if you want to put a special blanket or teddy in his bed with him.

everyone has everything pretty much covered. The only thing I'd add is some slippers for walking around in. If your baby happens to be in the nursery and you want to go see, if you need to walk during labor, etc. Pack for the unexpected. I know you plan on an uneventful labor and birth, but who knows. Also, think big ol' granny panties. Cheapy ones from walmart or something, seeing as how they'll probably be ruined. Best of luck to you!!

Clothes for you, travel shampoo, an outfit for baby and anything else you use daily like glasses toothbrush etc. Basically all you're going to do is sleep and feed the baby. And you will stay in your gown until you go home. But you might want a camera too. Make sure you have your car seat in the car too. Good luck.

I thought I'd be in overnight and wound up there for 5 days. Hubby had to run out and get stuff. Figure 2 nightgown/PJ things for you to greet guests in. Something to go home in. 2 or 3 bras (nursing type)...one will get sweaty when you deliver. LOTS of undies...they will get messed up. Bring several white onesies for baby. Always put them on under any outfits. The blue stuff from the bellybutton stains the outfits permanently. Bring a few cute pajamas for baby and one to take photo in....I used go home outfit for photo. Pack 1 set of PJ's/undies/change clothes for dad in case he's too tired to go home. Bring all your toiletries.....jumbo maxi pads, nursing pads, nipple cream for breastfeeding.... Hospital gives diapers, wipes, bottles, formula, etc. Don't forget your camera. Some DVD's are nice for beginning part of labor...hospital room can be boring until baby arrives.

For you:
toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, pony holder, lip balm, pajamas, stretchy comfortable pants for going home in, shirts, panties (not your best panties), baby book, socks, camera, camcorder

if breastfeeding: bring a bobby pillow with you it helps

For baby:
outfit to bring home in, baby wipes (the hospital I was in wipes were rough), blanket...dont forget to bring the car seat!!

hospital provides: diapers, formula, wipes (dont recommend using wipes if they are the hard ones), nose syringe, pacifier(dont let baby get to attached to them because you cant find them anywhere else at least that was the case here)

I hope I have included all you should need...good luck..enjoy motherhood!! Its a JOY!
