Why is February such a small month?

Because when the Roman Calender was being made Julius Ceaser (July) and Augustus Ceaser (August) wanted to have the longest months and took days from Feburary. That is why those two consecutive months have 31 days. I can't remember who Feb. is named after but there was a reason that they took days from that month instead of others.

Because it's a horrible month and it's best to get it over with quickly. Note: it's the 2nd month so we're done with it quickly each year, though it's not the first because who would want to start the year in February (it'd double the new year suicides for sure). In the Northern hemisphere, it's a cold, dark month with Valentine's Day smack in the middle, to either reimind you're alone, or two add pressure to a relationship already stressed by the lack of sunshine and frigid weather. Finally, every 4 years they add a day, to try and make it seem interesteing, but it still doesn't hide the fact it's a miserable month.

Because Ceasar Augustus wanted to have 31 days in his namesake month of August (not coincidentally after his uncle Julius Ceasar's month, July, which also has 31 days) so he stole it from February.

?cause astronomic year has 364 days PLUS 6 (and bits) hrs so ... the only extra day ... let's give it to the shortest month every four years...
