I think there are two books. One for all who have been born, and one called "The Lamb's Book of Life.
I grew up being always told that my birth was a mistake. I was not wanted.
As an adult I asked God to save me, and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
I still had problems with very low self-esteem because of my childhood. I prayed and asked God to help me.
One night I dreamed of my birth and was healed. I could see my mother draped in sheets, her feet in stirrups. Jesus was sitting on a stool between and caught me in one arm as I was born. On His lap was a large book with names in it. He turned the pages until he found my name, and He put a check by my name.
I knew then that my birth was planned by God, and that no birth is a mistake.
Later I found Psalm 139. I have included parts of it here in the NIV version, though I myself prefer the KJV.
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Certainly, here are my experiences:
And I saw the heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon called Faithful and True; and in righteous he doth judge and make war. And his eyes are a flame of fire, and upon his head are many diadems; and he hath a name written which no one knoweth but he himself. And he is arrayed in a garment sprinkled with blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
And the armies which are in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and pure. And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. And he hath on his garment and on his thigh a name written,
KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid heaven, Come and be gathered together unto the great supper of God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of them that sit thereon, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, and small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat upon the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burneth with brimstone: and the rest were killed with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, even the sword which came forth out of his mouth: and all the birds were filled with their flesh. [Rev 19:11-21]

We look for the Day of the Lord when He shall come and all His enemies shall be destroyed. On that day all evil will be vanquished. Our Creed tells us that he shall come again to judge the living and the dead. All souls be will be resurrected. Those whose names are written in the Book of Life, shall be resurrected to everlasting life, and those whose names are not in the Book of Life, shall be resurrected to everlasting damnation. And there shall be a new Heaven and a new Earth with Living Waters and the Tree of Life.
Blessed are those who wash their robes that they may have the right to the tree of life. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexual immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and liars.
Is your name written in the Book of Life? Are you sure? The Scriptures give us that assurance; anyone who calls Jesus Lord and Savior with their lips, believes in their heart that God resurrected Him, follows Him, and abides in Him shall never taste death. Their names are written forever in the Book of Life. Do you see the fruits of the Holy Spirit in your life? How about your family members, neighbors, co-workers, and associates? Do they have the same confidence and knowledge as you, or have they rejected or ignored their Savior?
** For those who lack confidence in their faith **
Do you lack confidence? If you have a desire to know Jesus personally as your Savior, if you want to follow him, if your heart is speaking to you now and you feel drawn to him, then know that Jesus said, "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." [John 6:44] Know too that you should expect to see the fruits of Christ's love in your life. Not forced by you, but coming naturally. Is that to say all men are expected to show all fruits? Not at all, for we all have different gifts and different levels of calling of the Spirit according to the grace that is given to us [Rom 12:6]
Now, asking God for the promise of Salvation is not a difficult matter. People need only with true and earnetst faith to call on Jesus; accept and confess Jesus as their personal Savior; believe in their heart that God resurrected him from the dead; ask him to come into them; acknowledge and confess their sins; repent; abide in Jesus day-by-day, and through Grace and the aid of the Holy Spirit, strive to meet the standard established in his Word while looking forward to the prize to come. This day we personally invite you become a Christian and a member of the Order:
First, aloud, renounce Satan and all that is evil, and confess Jesus as Lord. In your heart, believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and embrace Jesus the Christ as your only Savior - mind, body and soul.
Secondly, confess the Baptismal Creed of the ancient Church.
Thirdly, say the Vow of the Order, thereby committing yourself to following the commandments of our Lord, trusting him, and living henceforth in his Grace.
Fourthly, seek a local assembly of Christians*, associate with them and be baptized into the Church Militant in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, and commune with them in the Lord's Supper.
* I commend Revelation Chapter 2 & 3 for a discussion of the attributes of assemblies (churches) acceptable to our Lord to aid you in your selection
Jesus says,
YES I AM COMING SOON
and our reply to the Captain of the Host must be
"Come, Lord Jesus"
Maranatha !
See, the home of God is among mortals.
He will dwell with them as their God;
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them;
he will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.
Other Visions
O that my words were written down!
O that they were inscribed in a book!
O that with an iron pen and with lead
they were engraved on a rock forever!
For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that at the last he will stand upon the earth;
and after my skin has been thus destroyed,
then in my flesh I shall see God,
[Job xix. 23-27]

Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones:
I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.
I will lay sinews on you,
and will cause flesh to come upon you,
and cover you with skin,
and put breath in you,
and you shall live;
and you shall know that I am the LORD.”
[Ezek xxxvii]

Awake and sing ye that dwell in the dust
for thy dew is as the dew of herbs
and the earth shall cast forth the dead
[Isaiah xxvi 19]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever
Revelation 12:7-9
