To me hands down Lancome makes the best mascara on the market. It can be a little pricey, but I'd check to see if they have one of their outlets near you....Lancome-Designer Fragrance and Cosmetics. If you hit them on a really good sale I've gotten it for $10, although usually it's about $15 or 17...still much less than the dept stores.
I find they aren't very generous anymore with the testers unless a new type has come out, but you can always ask...can't hurt. Although once at the outlet, when Lancome had discountinued the mascara I like the most, they gave me samples of about 5 to try! They make several different types, most great. Depends what type of look you want. My personal fav , since they yet again nuked my fav, is Amplicils. You can read about them at http://www2.lancome.com/_int/_en/catalog/subcategory.aspx?CategoryCode=AXEMakeup^F1_Eyes^F2_Eye_Mascaras
They aren't cheap, but I'd save money elsewhere since IMHO they are soooo much better than any other mascara out there. And I've tried many brands at all price points. I would suggest avoiding the waterproof ones though...not only are they a pain to get off but it's the only Lancome I have used that clumped.
Good luck!

Absolute best for lengthening is Prescriptives False Eyelashes. You can also try Cover Girl Lash Exact. It doesn't clump but it is not quite as lengthening. And with any mascara, you'll have less clumpage if you apply right. Don't pump the brush because it can mess with the bristles. Apply a thin coat and after a few seconds, apply another. Jiggle the brush from root to tip.

i love full-n-soft by maybeline. the trick is how you apply your mascara. i put 3 or 4 coats on and my lashes look heavenly...put a little on the roots first to hold your curl. then gradually work your way to the tip with each coat. let each coat dry before putting on the next coat...also, i like to keep an old mascara brush that has nothing on it to comb through my lashes for feathery seperation! yeah, i've got it down to a science.

I am in LOVE with BADgal lash from Benefit. It is amazing! When you put on your mascara, look down onto the mirror - this helps lengthen the lashes.
Also, as you bring the wand up through the lashes, wiggle it from side to side - this seperates the lashes
I hope this has helped! =)

I started wearing Mascara at age 12, that was a very long time ago. I have tried many from drugstore to Nordstrom.... The very best I have found is ZOOM from M.A.C. Hope you enjoy.
