I woudlnt tell many people. I think i would take a very long break, probably go traveling. Decide what i wanted to do for myself with my money.. well decide as best i could. Then i would sit down and think about my friends, which ones and how i could help them etc. Best thing i could prob do is pay off their mortgages etc. But i think i would have a lawyer draw up a legal document even for my best friends and their spouses etc for total secrecy and it would be in the aggreement that they would lose all that id given them if they broke that aggreement.

I aggree with you it would be a living hell. I would quit my job but make up some story to the reason.

Ps if youve won the lottery i make a great friend :-)

lol... You would suddenly have lots of friends if you went public or it leaked out.

No, I would not. Firstly, for the purpose of privacy I would collect the funds using a "blind trust." Second, I would build a team of consisting of a tax attorney, accountant, financial planner, and a body guard. I believe that, it can only be HELL, if you are miserable with $10 dollars in your pocket--you'd be more miserable with $100,000.00 or $10 Million.

Well I would have to tell the lottery people so I could collect, and of course the Gov. because of taxes. I have always also wanted to be that jerk saying that he would not quit his garbage job even though he was now a gazillionaire.

Well how could you resist, I mean, you'd be bursting with excitement. Personally I would try like mad to not tell, but after a celebratory bottle of champagne or 4 I would start telling everyone how I was going to look after them. Then they'd know.

I'm with Scott. Only my attorney and accountant would know. My loved ones would receive letters by certified mail asking them to report to the attorney's office. They would sign a release, get their checks and be none the wiser. I would act just as surprised when I got my "check" from the attorney. My accountant would be paid to "hide" the rest.

Your right life would be different if everyone knew but don't they publish the persons name in the paper or announces it on T.V anyways?

I don't think you have a choice. I think the news publishes it or they announce who the winner is.

A living hell? Nah, I have a big enough backbone and the smarts to fend them off.
