Since no one's got the correct answer so far, I thought I'd help you out. While you could go to the passport office in Boston, you've got other alternatives as well.

There are several "passport" agencies that specialize in helping people like you and me get passports and visas very quickly. It does not circumvent security. They provide a service by waiting in line for you in case you are unable or unwilling to make the trip yourself to the local office that allows expedited handing of applications for passports/visas.

Here are a few.

Boston has a passport office,

BOSTON Passport Agency
Thomas P. O'Neill Federal Building
10 Causeway Street,
Suite 247
Boston, MA 02222-1094
If you're leaving within 10 days, call
Telephone Number: 1-877-4USA-PPT (1-877-487-2778)

I know that if you had proof of your imminent departure you used to be able to get a passport the same day there, though in today's environment, where everyone's terrified of...everything, there's probably a few more restrictions.

You aren't going to get a passport on the same day. And people are terrified over things for a reason. Reality has proven that there are problems in our world today, which forces society to take security measures..

What planet are you on? A passport in one day? In post 9-11 America?
Try Terrorists-R-Us. They have a branch at the South Shore Mall and maybe there is one on Blue Hill Ave.

Go to the Embassy in Boston. You can get it there but for a hefty price.

You can't. If a seriously close relative died, you have plane tickets and a death certificate...... maybe in 48 hours. Other than that if you pay enough for expidited and priority mail each way you could get one in 5 days....
