Conservatives say yes. After all, no terrorist attacks in this country since 9/11/01, right?

We also have not had any alien invasions, worldwide floods, the earth hasn't exploded, I haven't grown purple fur on my toes...

Quite an amazing man, that Dubya.

What say you?

I agree. I'm a smoker. I haven't gotten lung cancer yet. Ergo, I can assume that my smoking is keeping me from getting lung cancer. It's the same point. My point is that no one has any idea why terrorists haven't hit the U.S. again. Maybe there's been a secret international terrorists soccer tournament and they're busy. Maybe the terrorists are busy training and upgrading against America's finest in Iraq. Maybe Bush and Bin Laden have agreed to hold off 'til Bush is out of office. Maybe...

There is some logic to your posting, but some of your logic is flawed.

Since 9/11, I grew a goatee, and there have been no terrorist attacks. Therefore, one could conclude that my goatee is preventing terrorism.

Of course, that is not the case. Just because a happened and b didn't doesnt mean that a prevented b.

However, since 9/11 I haven't invested any money in the Bangledesh stock market, and as a result I don't have any money in the Bangledesh stock market.

In this case, my action (or inaction) of a directly prevented b. There there is a cause and effect relation between a and b.

If a happens and b doesn't, either a prevented b, or a and b have nothing to do with each other.

You are right to say that just because there have been no terrorist attacks since 9/11 automatically means that Bush's policies are working. However, you are equally wrong with your alien invasion/exploding earth scenario.

It is entirely illogical to assume that Bush policies would prevent these. (as you suggest in your post). However, you could make some sort of rational argument that his policies DO have some effect in preventing terrorist attacks.

Ultimately, the evidence is inconclusive. Both sides can't say with certaintly that his policies do or don't prevent terror attacks.

no one thinks the Iraq warfare prevents all terrorism at residing house. yet optimistically it lessens it. We in simple terms had one attack in Scotland, yet when we hadn't lengthy gone to Iraq, per chance there would've been 2 assaults as a replace. Or one hundred. There likely are extra terrorists in different parts of the international too. i do not comprehend what makes you imagine absolutely everyone ever said in the different case.

What say me? I say that going into Iraq was less about WMD and more about baiting terrorists into one central location rather than having to fight them all one small group at a time across a vast area. It was a military tactic. I'll put it like this . . .Iraq is like one of those roach bait housings restaurants put in the back. They put it in one location and roaches (terrorists) come out of the woodwork to get the bait. Which, is why liberals have said that Bush "created more terrorists" by going to Iraq. We didn't create more terrorists, we just lured them into once central area. Because of that, it only appears to be more of them. Now that we've formed a democratic government in Iraq in a 3 month time period, we need to get the Iraqis to run with the ball. God bless Dubya.

since terrorists want to ruin USA, I think his tactics to keep them in Iraq str better than fight them here! The positive hope is that when Iraq is stronger, Iraq will handle the terrorists there and we go home. People will see how useful his tactics are when we have to fight them here and I hope that day will never come!
