Tornados have been documented on every continent, except antarctica. they have also been recorded in every state in the US. They are more common in the US, about 75% of all tornadoes occur here, which is because of our unique geographic set up. Here in the states, they are most common in "tornado alley". this is a stretch of land in the middle of the US (great plains area/midwest). The worst tornados usually hit Oklahoma.

Good question. The bull's eye for tornadoes is in central Oklahoma where statistics reveal that there were 1326 tornadoes over a 25 year period which amounts to an average of 7.9 tornadoes per 10,000 sqare miles. The next state in order of frequency is Texas, with 2982 tornadoes followed by Kansas with 1122 tornadoes.
