Is the problem "radical Islam" or "Islamic fundamentalists" or Islam?

I know, the Bible and Torah have misogynist verses in them too - I'm not apologizing for any other religion - but there's a huge and obvious difference in scale and scope. 1 in 12 Koran verses is about hatred of and dealing death to non-Muslims. And there is no context for much of it - not that there is any appropriate context for dismemberment. Most of the violent or sexist Biblical verses are clearly historical, often clearly defensive, and in most cases God does his own wet work and it is far less graphic.

And most of the violence from other religions is a matter of history books - the violence in Islam is current events. Every day there is a new news story about murders committed in the name of Islam.

And violent Christians aren't following Jesus' example - violent Muslims ARE following Muhammad's example.

I know "it's only some of them" but it's the ones who take their religion's texts literally. And it's a lot of them.

Why qualify it? The problem is Islam.

The problem is Islam, people are being too PC about it and blaming radical Muslims. But those radical Muslims will be seen as heroes in the eyes of their beloved prophet, Mohammed. Mohammed was a pedophile who slept with Aisha when she was 9 and killed many people including Jews when he invaded countries. The Islam religion is a way to spread arab hemegony.

I think the main problem overall is poverty and lack of education. Forget about that the religious texts say. When a population becomes educated, it lets go of religion. Just look at Europe. Europe used to be a fanatical Christian land that murdered Jews (and Muslims too). And now they have modernized. You also have to remember that Islam is a much younger religion than Christianity (about 500 years or so). The Protestant reformation happened about 500 years ago, so I'd say Islam is just about due for one. Eventually, Islam as a whole will modernize.

I think that, unfortunately, many Muslims worldwide have been brainwashed by their own leaders into thinking that the world is against them. The problem isn't any of the above. The problem is people who are using a religion as a vehicle to become the ruler of the world. If you think that Osama or The President of Iran are merely preparing a place for the return of the Prophet, you are mistaken. I think in order to preserve our religious freedoms in the US, we MUST qualify it.

And I do think the problem ideology is radical Islam, whatever moniker one wishes to attach. However, I believe the solution to radical Islam lies within Islam.

Just as Christians do not condone the actions of the fringe, Islam must decry their fringe.
