Hell NO!!!! I am a guy and let me tell you. Tongue piercings mean one thing and one thing only: They are for giving blow jobs. The piercing will not only make the person's breath stink but label them as a BJ giving whore.

NO...it is a serious health risk...
A resident friend did a study on women that had died from brain abscesses after they had their tongues pierced....
the rationale is that the blood flows through the tongue and then back through the brain before it goes back to the heart and lungs to be redistributed to the rest of the body...
since the mouth is very filthy with bacteria et cetera... the blood can pick up some of these microorganisms and they can be deposited into the brain...lots of food, warmth and security...they grow uninhibited and sometimes it is too late for treatment when it is found!

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!! dO A LITTLE RESEARCH ABOUT HOW MANY THINGS CAN GO WRONG! Sorry if the answer is a little ovezealous, but think about her well being. Most states have laws that you must be at least 16 or 18 for tattoos and body piercings. Doesn't that make you wonder why? If she saved her money for it have her save it in a bank account, gaining interest and if she wants to go have it done on her 18th birthday she will have a little extra cash as well. Until then it's your decision, and I hope you make the right one.

People who assume that is signifies a sexual thing are stupid. My friend is 16 and she got her tongue pierced and shes perfectly fine. I would at least wait until shes 15 because at 13 she might not know how to take care of it because it swells at first and stuff. I'm getting mine soon. and no i don't give blow jobs, I'm 15 now.

No not at all. This is something that she could do when she is 18. The tongue is a muscle and should not have any pierced though it. Have you seen what they look like when they are infected.. it is gross and painful and some older piercing have showed signs of cancers.

Absolutely Not! I'm 21 and I do have a tongue ring, under no circumstances would I let my child get it until they were 18.

NO WAY! Why would she even want one? My mom knows this one lady who got her tongue pierced, and it got infected and they had to cut her tongue out. (True story)

Another one is that once this lady that my aunt knew, her daughter got her belly button pierced when she was like...15 or something. It got infected, traveled up to her brain, and now she is paralyzed.

I don't see why not, and some of the people are wrong on here, not all girls get it just because it signifies blow jobs. I had mine done when i was 12-13 and I never gave a ********. I still have mine to this day and i don't see any harm in it....
But it's really what you think about it, maybe suggest a belly ring or a nose ring instead..

Yes. i would. I am around that age and I wanted my nose pierced and my mom compromised. The end result was another 2 piercings in my ears instead of a nose ring.

I would say I would allow her, because she sounds like she really wants it, and it grows in quicky if you don't like it. And shes paying for it.

of course. as long as i don't have to pay for it, it their own business. i believe it's their own bodies and they can do whatever they want with them. and the 'myth' about what it signifies, mean nothing. is that what is meant hundreds of years ago when wild people were piercing their tounges? i don't think so. and anyways, if you don't let them do it now, they'll just rebel and pierce it themselves. they would have the courage to pierce it themself if they actually took the time to save up for it.
