Eric- Better not ask such questions in a forum like Yahoo Answers. People from all over the world will answer, many times with conflicting opinions. Check out some other threads and you'll see that people can be rude and bullying(both teams). Better talk to your parents. Anyway IMHO, its NOT a part of the NATURAL human condition. Some people claim that its seen in about 400-500 animal species, so its natural, but thats not a valid claim at all. Just because ALL species develop diseases due to ANY reason( genetic, environmental, etc ) doesn't mean that it is natural. Sexual intercourse is designed to produce the next generation. IN animals. Thats why we get attracted to the other sex. But thats only the animal part. However, as human beings we can give a higher meaning to the act of sex. Its about understanding the opposite sex. Understanding life on Earth as a human being. Its about creating a lifelong commitment to a person who is the polar opposite of you. Mentally, emotionally, physically. Mark OPPOSITE and EQUAL. Its about understanding what your parents went through to bring you up. That is what makes it sacred. You must understand that sex is merely a vehicle for a higher purpose. Not the goal in itself. And certainly not PLEASURE, or so called FULFILLMENT that homosexually attracted people are seeking. Anyway many heterosexually attracted people also don't understand this, so they can't really argue. My 2 cents anyway.... But remember, your parents will be your best guides in this issue. And don't feel very offended if anyone insults you. ---------------------------------------... You're very unlikely to get an unbiased answer here. Views against calling homosexuality as a problem are very unpopular here!! @rohan I'm a Hindu from India. Hinduism is as old as the human race. And Dharma is as old as Creation itself. I know a lot of EXPERTS claim hinduism supports all sexual freedom, but I'll take this chance to say that IT DOES NOT.

Avoid sleeping/napping in the afternoon. Eat lots of garlic well cooked with other food (atleast 400 gms in a month). Eat curd rice after lunch and dinner. In the after noon, eat rice mixed with tamarind based items like sambar, rasam etc. In the night, take a bath after having food. Every saturday morning and if possible on wednesday evening, massage your scalp with heated sessame oil in as much quantity as you can. Also massage the entire body with this oil. Instead of soap apply a paste of shikakai and basen powder on the oiled portions before rinsing them with water.
If you have an acute problem of insomnia, the only way to get good sleep is by doing meditation for half an hour in the morning and evening.

Hello, just wanted to let you know of a miracle pill that puts you to sleep, available over the counter, is actually very very beneficial for your health, and is only 3 bucks!! I had trouble falling asleep for years. I would lay in bed, and think and think and think for hours before I could fall asleep. It was literally driving me crazy!! I had tried every over the counter sleeping pill on the market and nothing helped. I turned to Nyquil and that did the trick. I had been drinking Nyquil almost every night to go to sleep until I stumbled upon this miracle sanity saving nutritional supplement named MELATONIN. And you can buy it at any GNC health food store. I advocate GNC because the melatonin they use goes through 85 different quality checks before its bottled. Buy the sublingual melatonin. The kind that dissolves underneath your tongue tastes like cherries and it’s good for you!! I was shocked at the effectiveness in putting me to sleep. If you have any questions before you buy it the sales associate at GNC should be able to answer any questions you have. It comes in 1 mg, I take 2 right before bed. The only side effects are weird dreams for the first two nights if any at all. Should be taken at regular bedtimes in the evening.
God Bless
P.S. after you try it and it works don’t forget to tell others about it. You could be saving someone else’s Sanity

In order to to fall asleep, you need to lower your core temperature -- which means making your extremities warmer to draw the heat away from your inside. Wear socks and make sure the room you sleep is a comfortable temperature.

Avoiding TV/computer for at least an hour before bedtime also helps. The flashing lights not only stimulate your brain, but they can mess with your natural sleep/wake patterns. These patterns are reset by bright light, so using a dimmer switch on your lights can help, too. Also, avoid using your bedroom for things like reading and watching TV -- you need to train your brain to think sleep whenever you enter.

Herbs like melatonin can help a lot. Aromatherapy (often lavender) body lotion, body spray, or linen spray can help. Meditation can help.

Hypnosis can be _very_ effective too. Get a hypnosis audio especially designed for sleep induction (it won't tell you to open your eyes at the end). You can find an inexpensive downloadable mp3 at hypnosisdownloads.com.(this is by no means the only one, just my personal favorite -- you can find many using a search engine.)

If u can't sleep because of stress or tension do as follows:
Take Lavender Oil & Sandalwood Oil 3 drops each, Bergamot Oil, Clarysage Oil & Neroli Oil 2 drops each. Mix these drops to the tub bath with water and stir well. Gently enter the tub, take 3-4 deep breaths. Imagine u r in a beautiful garden with trees, flowers, butterfllies, birds. Inhale the aroma of flowers of grass, listen to the birds. Remail for at least 20 minutes in the water then come out slowly and and let the water dry on its own on your body and then wipe ur body gently, wear ur night suit and go to sleep. Try it and tell me how u feel.

If you have trouble sleeping, the first thing you can do is try valerian, the best herbal sedative, with no chance of dependency. Another herb that really promotes sleep is Jiaogulan. this herb will increase the quality of your sleep dramatically.

you could also purchase an mp3 from a company called brain sync, where you listen to binaural beats on earphones which increase delta waves. It is very scientific and it really works for me,

if interested go here

Other than that, the only other thing I could think of that helps with sleep is exercising.

good luck

Here is a easy meditation that might help.
Try going into a dark quiet room and closing your eyes, take a deep breath and breathe out slowly, as you breathe in again picture a room behind your eyes that's completely empty except for a drain in the middle of the room. As you contnue breathing let your thoughts go down the drain in the floor and neutralize in the universe, Just breathe and feel all your muscles relax into the floor or chair. Keep breathing evenly and deeply and remember all the love and light in your life and let go of your stress. As you finish slowly crawl into bed and ask the universe to allow you peaceful rest. Sweet dreams

Chiropractic care has been shown to help with many people suffering from insomnia. It’s actually been shown to be much better than medication. It’s very good that you are searching for a natural alternative.
Sleep aids have only been shown to allow a person to fall asleep 13 minutes sooner and can have serious side effects including death in severe drug reactions.
Side effects at any dose may include:
•Anterograde amnesia
•Hallucinations, through all physical senses, of varying intensity
•Delusions
•Ataxia or poor motor coordination, difficulty maintaining balance
•Euphoria and/or dysphoria
•Increased appetite
•Impaired judgment and reasoning
•Uninhibited extroversion in social or interpersonal settings
•Increased impulsivity
•When stopped rebound insomnia may occur
•Liver and kidney damage/ failure

hi,

Home remedies for insomnia are very effective and also free from side-effects. Few of them are as below -

* Honey is an effective remedy to induce sleep. Two teaspoonful of honey should be mixed in warm water and taken before going to bed.

* Prepare a mixture by adding two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with one cup of honey and store this mixture in an airtight container. Take two spoonful of this mixture whenever necessary.

* Drinking Kava kava a few hours before bedtime reduces stress, tension, anxiety and relaxes muscles. It helps to fall asleep deeper and to rest more.

* The patient should take plenty of curd and massage it on the head. This will induce sleep.

Binary beats synchronize your mind with sound frequencies and change the frequency of your brain into either alpha-creative/relaxed theta-dreamy or Delta-deep sleep (headphones are required.) I listen to delta frequencies every night. If I only get six hours of sleep, I still feel like I got at least 8. Also, my dreams are amazing.

If you want to try this effective method than I would recommend Brainisync found at http://www.brainsync.com/ (10 dollars to download, but its worth it)
