a) ..."I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of propertied class, and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal."

The ACLU defends illegal aliens. They are not American either.

If Hitler was protected by the Constitution and his rights were being violated then Yes they would. The ACLU defends the Constitution and the rights guaranteed by it.
I think we'd all agree to some extent that the founding fathers had a pretty good idea of what needed to be done to keep the Liberty they envisioned. There is a reason the three branches, Legislative, Judicial and Executive are separate.

However it seems the President (Executive) decided to create a law,(legislative) the Military Commissions Act which combined with his power to strip you of your citizenship and direct the Military Tribunal to name you an unlawful enemy combatant - thus making you an Alien unlawful enemy combatant... and open to trial, torture and execution under the MCA by a military commission (Judicial) under the direct control of the Commander and Chief also know as... Anyone?

Kinda goes against that whole separation of the branches thingee huh? Why did they separate them again?

ACLU = American Communist Loving Utilitarians.

There was a man who said America would be defeated from within...it might have been Kruschev. But, no matter, the ACLU is not for Americans, or civil rights. To go after everything good about America, tear it down, then stomp it into oblivion...that is their sole purpose for existing.

The American Constitution was not for serving the World or every radicalists' idea of freedom. It was to provide a place for people to live together without fear of oppression and to be able to worship as they wished.

There's no mention of the general public being forced to obey single or select opinions because they don't like to hear or see them. Look at the list of the radical cases the ACLU has defended and won, and you'll see why America is truly on the brink of falling into the abyss of the God-less Nation the ACLU hopes to achieve.

Yes actually. The ACLU basically defends anyone who they feel is having their civil liberties taken away. They don't endorse or agree with the groups or individuals, they just defend their rights. So if Hitler was alive today, in the US, and his civil liberties were in danger, the ACLU would help him with that, despite his obviously evil ideas.

Great! Another Hitler analogy! Boy, the big brains are out in force today. Well, Einstein, it depends. Would they defend his right to 1) publish his memoirs "Mein Kampf" and make lots of ranty speeches, or 2) kill up to two-thirds of all European Jewry.

If my understanding of the ACLU's principles is correct, I think they would support the former. Probably not so much the latter.Just like the ACLU think that NAMBLA have a right to be heard in the public sphere, but don't support the right to molest children. Does that answer your question, or is the distinction too subtle for you?

Sure if Prescott Bush had granted Hitler honorary citizenship. Hitler would be subject to the same defense as any other American.

Hitler was never under the laws of the USA. But someone like him in the USA in terms of what he advocated, sure. The ACLU has ALWAYS been an advocate of the Constitution, and not for the individuals per se who test the boundries of Constitutional liberties.

WHICH AT THE TIME HAD A GREAT MANY JEWS WHO SURVIVED THE CONCENTRATION CAMPS OF WORLD WAR II.
