I'd try to let it go, but if they caught me at the wrong time, I would go into my spiel (and it's true), that people who have something bad to say about someone else do it only to take the attention off themselves because they don't like themselves. (A psychological tidbit there.)

It depends on who it is and where we are at the time. I try to let most things go unless it's just too bad or has something to do with my girl or my family. Then I can't just ignore it.

It depends. If I actually care about the person, I'll call 'em on the carpet to hash it out. Can't let that stuff linger. But if they're just knuckleheads, I wouldn't waste my time.

It depends on the situation. One of my favorite things to do it tell them they're right. It takes all the wind out of their sails and I don't lose my attitude over something I can't change, anyway.

Depends on what they said. Some things are not worth the energy and others can't be ignored.

Depends on what time of the month it is. If it's during that lovely time, watch out, someone's head is flying off. If not, I usually brush it off.

I would point out (nicely) that what they said was mean and unneccessary, ask them not to do it anymore and drive on. It's not worth wrecking my day over some person's opinion.

i tend to have a sharp tongue this is especially true when someone has pi*sed me off so i tend to get them right back. although now that i am older i have also learned the fine art of restraint so sometimes i will bite my tongue and ignore them.

If I really think they are trying to piss me off then I usually let them have it. At work I just smile and be neutral.

That would depend directly on the comment. I can be fairly mean myself, verbally, when provoked.
