is it because somewhere along the way someone didnt feel the same about the other... or is the other waiting for an opening to weasel in? guys have other guys to be "friends with".....

They never outgrow Fantasy land. I have not met one single man that had a female friend that would not, on less than a drop of the hat, have sex with his friend. The friend is a what if my wife/s/o/g/f leaves me stand in. The friend is really the woman of his dreams but he met her too late and is willing to keep her as a friend until death does in the wife. So long as she is his friend he can keep his finger on her goings on and even at her weak moment be available if she gives the okay to take her to bed. The friend keeps my wife/s/o/g/f on her toes and taking good care of me for fear the friend will steal me away. This friend will do things for me my wife/s/o/g/f will not do for me. Having my friend is a wonderful ego rub that my wife/s/o/g/f does not do often enough. These are just a slight sprinkling of the unknown total of their fantasy land reasons.

Well, I can't speak for other guys, but I feel so much more at ease
when I'm around girls than guys. It just seems that guys are
always wanting to be "top dog" and they'll put down any other guy
in the way. Guys are always fighting each other, and unless I
agree with them, I'm not going to get any USABLE advice from
them.
But, when I'm around girls, information and advice flows a lot
easier. Everybody is more relaxed and comfortable. It's not some kind of sex game--it's just a cool, relaxed hang-out time.

sometimes it's good to have someone from the other camp on your side. for a man to have a good girlfriend, one that cares about his future and happiness with no strings attached, is a truly beautiful thing. men cannot offer the same insight into relationship problems as women can, and i think it important for a man to have a female friend that can be completely honest with him.

I say there is nothing wrong with dudes being friends with girls...they give good advice.....with me I'm not even attracted to my female friends.....but girls sometimes listen more than a dude would and they're just easier to talk to......
