You might get more answers if you gave more details. Here are some tricks: I think you have a software problem, but first check for a virus (use norton). Also check for spyware (download spybot) . You should check if it restartsat any moment or when you run any specific software. If so you should reinstall it.
Now, if any solution doesn't work you still have system recovery... you can restore your system to a previous state where it is supposed to be ok. Your personal files aren't lost, only software changes. And if nothing of this works, backup your information and reinstall windows...
I hope this helps a little bit. There are more things to do, but I'd have to see your PC personally, wich is not possible.

Try starting the computer in safe mode, does it still restart by itself? If so it is a software problem. I have had a simular problem and it ended up being something with the antivirus software. Try turning it off or making it so it won't boot up on startup and see if it solves your problem.

this will be one of two things.
1st the ram or 2nd the power supply.
unless your fortunate and have 2 pieces of ram in your pc there isnt a simple solution to finding out.
If you do have 2 pieces, remove one and see what gives.if it crashes, swap the ram over and try again. the same result would suggest the power supply.
if you only have the one piece of ram, grab a bit out of a friends pc and see what gives ok.

Funnily enough my boyfriend was saying an hour or so ago that Norton goes far too in depth into protecting the computer and he had the same problem as you are having.
