I have a judgement that was won against me about two years ago. I need a bank account for a period of time. I need to know how quickly this information can be discovered and the money be attached and with drown by the collector if I open a savings account.

Is there any States where I can set up an account that would secure the money from the collections of the judgement?

Most banks report to the credit agencies so the next time the collector looks at your credit report, he'll see your new banks report or inquiry on your report and know you have a new account.

If you have a judgment against you, a creditor can attach any asset with the exception of your house as most states now have homestead laws or some other type of protection from keeping most creditors from attaching homes. Pretty much anything else, including your car, is free game for creditors.

I had the same thing happen to me. They kept taking money out of my bank account so i closed it and opened another account with a different bank. It has been about 4 months now and they have never touched my money.

Collectors cannot take money out of your account without your permission. So do not give them any access to your bank accounts. They can have a court order to garnish your wages. Or you could send them cashiers cecks.

With your SSN and the web - about 24 hrs.
Do they have a court order for garnishment ?
Yes > no state or bank can obstruct a court order .
