A few years ago when the Lakers and the Sixers were in the NBA Finals, I remeber the sports announcer talking about how Dikembe Mutombo had to kill a lion to become a man in his Native African tribe... Does anyone know if this is a valid statement?

I thought Manute Bol said he had killed a lion. I didn't believe him, or Mutombo if he says he did.
All one would have to do is fire a high powered rifle from a safe distance anyway.
