I believe that the internet in general is dangerous if people don't know how to be safe. You think MySpace isn't safe for teenagers? Disney is thinking about starting a networking service for kids as young as 8. I think if your under 16 you really need to be careful and don't trust strangers on MySpace.

Well MySpace is not very safe you shouldn't talk to anyone you don't know no matter how old you are. I'm not hating on MySpace, because I have one too, because any website can be unsafe. Hope I helped some.

Thanks for asking this question. I like to view the internet in general like a large city. A city has all kinds of elements both positive and negative in it. Would you allow a child to wander freely in a large city unsupervised?
MySpace has some protections at the site to assist kids and protect them. However the best protection is that any website activity conducted on "the web" is supervised by parents at ALL TIMES.
MySpace and other websites like it have a responsibility, however THE ultimate responsibility lies on the parents.
Best regards with your persuasive project!

Well...i think that they can have a myspace when they're 16 as long as they aint immature nd know when to be serious and if their parents trust them...but for under 16 like 10 or younger is ridiculous.

Its unsafe for anyone that has a myspace because those intelligent computer hackers can find all your information. Lets just say no one is safe.

Well, first of all, you can't get hurt over your computer. You only get problems when you agree to meet somebody in person or give personal information. I think most people, even under 16, usually know better. As long as the parents try to keep a close eye on their kids, it should be fine.

No. Because if you let your child have a myspace you should watch them. set your profile to private and only let your friends be your friends on there. It is as simple as that. Dont put yourself in a bad situation. Dont put your personal info on there. Your friends will know who you are and other people wont.

I guess aven't you seen some of the perved out junk on here regularly. Yahoo Q&A is unsafe for kids under 16. Unless the kid's parents aren't already perving him or her out.

Yes I agree...unfortunately on all of your web sites like this there are sexual predators and no matter how much we talk to our kids about this....it only takes that one time for them to hook up with the wrong person.
