on credit card... vacation is in a week.. been calling non-stop at National Passport Agency, but it is all automated, tried pressing zero, went to post office where done, they can't do anything...

There is no record... the only way to check is on-line, and it says there is no record.

I know 3 other people who did theirs around same time, no problem, here in 2 weeks.

What else is there to do? Vacation is in one week!

By expidited did you just pay for that service or did you pay for certified mail each way as well? Or at least one way. If you did it at the post office you would have had to supply an original birth certificate. They have to give you reciepts and such and they absolutly have to have a record of it as someone has to sign off on your application.

You can do this over if you still have your documents. You can get it in 3 days if you pay for mail each way. If you live near a city that has a passport agency you can walk in and get a passport in 48 hours if you already have tickets.

It's all automated? Now how it works is that it has been outsourced and you have to pay just to ask questions. I would say that you need to harass the post office and then spend a whole lot of time working your way through the automated menus. Enough time spent on the phone and you will find someone to answer your question.

You didn't get suspicious when your credit card wasn't charged?
