Why do conservatives have such confidence in the ability of science and technology to invent new solutions to problems like alternative energy sources or any other new markets or new products? ...but when there's bad news, when science and technology tells us man-made Global Warming is a distinct possibility...they just suddenly lose confidence, call it a socialist conspiracy and hire new scientists to support their point of view?

Science is based on facts. Science has not proven global warming. However, science has proven that the sun is producing more energy which means more heat which eventually hits the planet earth and therefore makes the earth warmer.

The flaw isn't necessarily in the science its in the 'scientist'
If i go measure temperature in a few areas and say the temperature is going up here by (x) amount does that mean its going up by that much on the whole planet.
If i measure ice sheet melting on one peninsula and based on those numbers alone tell everyone that ice is melting ( meaning everywhere ) by x amount am I being responsible?
These are just a few of the examples of what the people telling us there is global warming are doing.
I call it cherry picking your data. it isnt honest responsible science.

You said it in your question its a possibility not a fact!!! There is the same possibility of being hit by a meteor, too, but you aren't running around screaming about a way to prevent that. There is no proof that human made greenhouse gases are affecting the climate at all.

These are people who listen to conservative hate radio commentators who spew their clap trap because they oppose or are jealous of certain successful people on the other side. They would trust Limbaugh the lame brain over Einstein the genius. But nobody is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and as long as we realize our mistakes and correct them we'll be okay. So shut off the radio and pay attention to reality cons!
