it sounds like you have a bartholin's cyst. it needs to be incised and drained. go to the emergency room and get it lanced. i also recommend sitz bath-----sitting in tub of warm water for 20mins, three times a day. the cyst is gonna get bigger though.

First, there are some ways you can be seen at a Women's Health center, Medicaid, etc., maybe. But, I know that it can be nearly impossible to get through the wait and the red tape.
The bump does not necessarily mean anything dreadful. If you absolutely can't get to a health professional, natural things do work very well. I know, because I am without funds, too, and must rely on paying for everything myself.
Coconut oil is the best natural healer in the world. Don't go to Wal Mart. Go to a health food store like Wild Oats and get pure, virgin coconut oil. It is a little expensive, like $16.95 a quart, but you're not going to drink the stuff, but take it by the tablespoon and rub it on. Do a search on it on the internet. It is miraculous stuff. It kills a yeast infection, is antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, etc. I use it all the time. I put a tablesponful in my tea in the morning, cook with it, spread it on toast, etc. I am simply almost never sick. I can't afford to be, as I have no insurance. I am 58 years old, and trying hard to be healthy. I know it will help you as much as it has helped me.

A friend of mine asked me this same question a few months back. She had an itchy blister/bump/lump on her labia and felt like she was getting a yeast infection. I told her to go to the doc.
She found out that she had a form of herpes...Before you freak out...it was not the genital herpes type, it was more like the cold sore type. she got some cream from the doc and it went away and it hasn't come back that I know of, and she doesn't have to be treated for herpes.
I can't be sure that you have the same thing, but you really should have it looked at.
If you can't afford the doctor, then go to the emergency room. They will treat you even if you can't pay for it and when you get the bill, there will be a number to call for assistance in paying the bill. if you have zero income, you won't have to pay a cent. But you have to call the assistance number.

You should go to your doc to be checked...but I understand the unemployment situation. I'm broke too...the winds are changing but I'm in such a bind for the next couple months, I just don't know what would happen if I were in your shoes.
What I would honestly do, is get your mirror out and get a good look at the area, and...no kidding...take a pic on your digital camera. Take a new pic every day for the next week and note any changes to the bump. If your symptoms go away, great, but bring it up the next time you visit your MD or gyno. If things get worse or the area changes for the worse in any way (spreads, gets bigger, fierce itching, more pain, weird discharge) then you have to see a doc whether you can afford it or not. Take the pics with you to show them what it looked like in the beginning.
If you have a trusting relationship with your gyno office, just tell them you are really concerned about something and ask them to make an exception to bill you later. If this doesn't work then you need to find a public health provider that will see you for free or for a sliding scale fee, which means that your bill is determined by your ability to pay.
I did something similar and my mom thought I was crazy. I got stung by a wasp on my breast. I immediately took two benadryl but I was scared that I would pass out (my mom was ill, has since died) and no one would find me. What I did was get a sharpie, drew all over the place until I conked out. I outlined the site of the sting, drew around the swelling, date and time by the line. Then waited 15 minutes and drew around the swelling again, documenting how fast everything was changing.
Note, if I had started to break out in hives or throat closing, all this would have been over...straight to 911. I'm not stupid!
I wrote on my abdomen what had happened, in Sharpie marker, and that I had taken benadryl, and noted my medical allergies and my regular doc...my insurance company, everything. I woke up later feeling really dumb because I way overreacted but you know? If things had gone bad, they would have known how to help me.
I was ready boy! Turned out to hurt like hell but didn't cause any other problems.
I really hope nothing is wrong. Please take good care of yourself.

Ok First of all don't panic, from the sounds of it, it's not a yeast infection. It is very unlikely that a yeast infection is on the outside of your vagina. It sounds to me like maybe irritation from an in grown hair or some kind of friction induced boil. It is not uncommon if you shave your "nether region" that this could be the case.

I'm not really sure what they are, but I have had many in the past. I just keep an eye on it and make sure I keep very clean. It almost seems like a boil. They usually go away in a couple of days to a week. If it is there any longer, I would go see a Dr. Since money is an issue for you right now, you may want to look at going to a free clinic just to make sure. I know of a couple of female friends of mine who have said they have had the same thing.

what about a free clinic? I think you need to be checked. You can try the OTC creams for a yeast infection, but I would suggest going to find a free clinic to be seen at. It probably isn't something that you just want to brush off... but when have all been there in rough times. Just do what you can do and I hope you get better soon. Just watch for a fever... anytime there is a fever there is "something going on".

GO talk to the drugist. SOunds like you have something else. BETTER have that checked out. IF your having sex you need to go to a DR. IF your not having sex you have a yeast infection, Mystatin is the cure 4 that.

Well, I would say go to the doctor, as that is likely to be an infection. If you have a free clinic or something like that in your area I would highly suggest going there.
Aside from that, make sure you keep it clean, don't touch it (and for heaven's sake don't scratch it!).

Even if you are unemployed and have no insurance, you can still go to clinics like Planned Parenthood or a county clinic, they are not just for abortions, they provide GYN services, too.
