How would we know if we died or not? Maybe we die all the time and dont understand or recognize the moment perhaps!

I have pondered this as well. How do I know that I am still the me that was here yesterday? There seems to be continuity, but that is only because I remember what I did yesterday. How do I know that each day I'm not a new individual, or even every moment? Just my own personaly thoughts on the subject, I've been pondering it a lot myself lately, good question.

I don't think you've died yet or you probably wouldn't be asking this question.

If you're wondering about reincarnation, that's another thing.

Are you wondering if we die for a millisecond then snap back into our existing (otherwise healthy) bodies? Without realizing it?

If this were the way things happened all the time (but we just don't notice) then really we would still be living our "lives" as we usually do and there wouldn't be any significant difference. No good reason to give it much thought either.

Ummm...no...just the once that I know of! Although there are some folks who have near death experiences or who actually flatline & manage to come back. Then they speak of afterlife experiences, going toward a bright light or some report having visited Heaven or Hell.

Sleep has been referred to as a "little death." We are unconscious & we go into a dream world....

But no, I think once is enough! You might have an out of body experience but that doesn't mean you died. Your soul may have just gone out for some air & then came back (some people can astral project)...

Like some poet said; we die 24 hours a day. Other people say we only die once. And other people say we're already dead!0!

Yeah i've wondered about that too. People say When you die you just die, there's nothing after that.......but i can't believe that......there has to be a place where people go after they die.....either heaven or hell or just stuck on earth as spirits who didnt know where they belonged....i wonder if its like we are in a deep sleep we cant come back for, in a dream forever.

i think u know when u see angels if u had done good things in ur life coming and taking ur soul away then u die. after that people bury u and that's when angels begins to ask u questions about if u used to pray or not who is ur prophet and who do u believe in all that kind of questions. and if u had done all the things that god commanded us to do then u wont suffer and u'll wait until the time comes. when all the people gathered to wait for god to ask us about the things that we have done in our lives. and according to what we have done in our lives if it's good then we'll go to heaven for eternity and if it's bad then we'll burn in hell until go forgives u. and of course not all people are the same in there actions.(that's according to aslam religion)

I'm just wondering how roxy KNOWS death is like going to sleep...while it APPEARS to be that way from the living's point of view you can't be certain until you die...so have you been dead and have returned? Do tell us of your expierence since you seem to know.

we are constantly dying, and being reborn.as our cells die so do we. we never wake up the same as when we went to bed. we have new cells, new ideas, new feelings. we can see that as we age.we will keep dying until we are dead. we can die for years but we can only be dead once.

anything is possible. depends on your beliefs. maybe then we are born all the time too and don't realize it. we don't comprehend the intransigent bond of birth and death. pretty cool topic for discussion after puffing on the water pipe eh?
