Whatever you do, close the escape window! Work it out from the perspective that leaving one another is not an option. That should alleviate any desperation in your tone.
Pride is also not an option. So swallow it and figure out when this all started. Was there a pivotal moment? If so, go back to it. Simply ask him, "Do you feel the tension between us? Is there something I can do to get us back to being partners? Are you going to work this out with me?"
You can't do it by yourself. Don't assume anything. Start this situation from the viewpoint of an outsider. This will give you the advantage of not seeming like a whiner. Instead, you will seem curious and open to any suggestions. Good luck to you.

The only thing you can do is try to change the situation yourself. When he comes home, be a "super wife" and try to get his attention this way. Don't nag him.
If you're doing all that YOU can do, then it's on his plate to change. If he still doesn't change anything, hold out till the kids are 18 and then make the choice whether or not you want to continue with life the way it is.
You can't change someone else, but you can change the way YOU do things.
Good luck.

Could be your hubby is tired? Does he tour a lot with a band? Or does he just play the local bars at night? Maybe instead of worrying about what you have been missing you could give him what HE needs. Run a nice hot bath for him. Pamper and baby him, bathe him and pat him dry. Have lighted scented candles in the bathroom and bed room. Give him a good body massage to relax his muscles. I bet that will get you the attention you crave.

be honest with him. tell him you love him and that it would mean a lot to you if starts showing more affection. tell him you want a little more attention...and maybe you two should just spicen things up and start going out on 'date's together. maybe surprise him and go for a sexy makeover? you can even start the affection yourself...if he's just sitting there on the couch while the 2 of you are watching t.v....you should scoot over to him n' cuddle w/ him...be affectionate w/ him. maybe it'll rub off on him? give it a try. u got nothing to loose.

Maybe you are both in a rut. You need to find something to bring you together. Maybe you should talk to your girlfriends, and they can come up with some ideas for you. Perhaps a kinky sex toy might be a good ice-breaker. Whatever it is, just get cracking before you die from boredom.

Is he like this around other people too?
Does he play any instrument? If so, have your kids learn the same instrument from him or another teacher. Schedule some weekend trips for the whole family.
Have fun!

Plan things with the kids or a family day together. You could go out once every two weeks.

maybe he is now having a affair with some one else.do a detective find out.if you find he is not in any other illicit relationship then use your "the wife tactic's"to attract his attention towards you. if this fails then use your kids to get him talk to you.
there are lot of ways like these but if you find these difficult then at least remember this "A HUSBAND AND WIFE'S QUARREL LASTS TILL THEY FINISH THEIR DINNER AND HOP INTO BED".

Get in to a family counselor. If you're feeling ignored and you've tried to explain yourself to him regarding this feeling (I don't know if you have or not! You don't say so), then maybe you guys need some intervention from a 3rd party.
