The human brain has many functions each of which work differently, nobody knows 'how the brain works' but psychology has helped us understand some of its more simple functions. A good example is STM + LTM, short term memory and long term memory, it is generally accepted that the human memory operates using these two main parts. (STM+LTM) But even the -way- in which the human memory works is still under debate! With many psychologists and biologists arguing about each and every aspect of the brain. Summarised, we still don't know exactly how the human brain works but if you find this interesting you could study or research psychology; a fascinating and broad subject.

The brain is composed of billions of tiny cells called "neurons"; these are the same cells that we call for the entire nervous system. The cells communicate between themselves by chemical compounds known as "neurotransmitters".
The way the brain works is by interpreting data that's sent to it throughout the body by electro-chemical signals. So if for instance you get poked in your hand with a needle, the very same area where you're poked will send a message to the brain through the nerves and the brain will tell the muscles to move so as to avoid the continuous pain. This basic example applies to everything that the brain processes.
Hope this helps :)

The human brain is more advanced and smart then the smartest computer. We, humans, only use about 10 percent of our brains. Not including the geniuses in the world. Thats about all I have of info on brains.
