At 9 years old theres a long road ahead! You can never tell at the age of 9. some players develop later than others, generally the chances of them making it is very low. the time to start thinking proffesional is around 15/16!
But my advice is just stick at it attend practice regulary and become the best player you can be. and who knows you might be one of the lucky ones!

I would say that a 9 year old footballer playing in a team would have a high higher success rate than a 9 year old footballer NOT playing in a team.
Stay with it Jordan, you need years of practice !

Well...if you presume that every single professional player in England was once also a nine year old in a local team...then I'd say pretty good! But the truth is that very, very few young players "make it"...for every 20 junior apprentices employed by a club, only one will be eventually offered a professional contract, and an even smaller percentage will then end up playing for the first team.

He needs to be serious and work hard. Most kids will grow away from football as they get older.
He needs to look after himself- right foods, fitness, attitude. Bigger and stronger kids tend to do better. Right foods and gym is important when he gets older if he's serious.
Get in touch with the local Premiership clubs. They all run training schemes. They want kids to succeed as much as the kids do.

Don't know the statistics but realistically they are not very high. Just keep up the learning curve, keep practicing, devotion and enthusiasm and maybe, just maybe he will do it.
