I just went and bought one of the 2GB Ipods yesterday. I got a bunch of songs on it and was listening to them before I went to bed. Then I turned it off (at least, I think I did), plugged it in cause I thought it could charge all night and then woke up this morning to a frozen Ipod. It is stopped on the song I was last listening to and basically looks like I paused it. The screen is staying lit up and none of the buttons will work. I tried unplugging it from my computer and nothing happened. I tried plugging it back into my computer and again, nothing happened and it is just staying in the same place. Does anybody know what I should do?

Go to apple's website and look for iPod troubleshooting. This happened to me and they have a whole bunch of ways to try unfreezing it - worked for me.

Okay, here's what you need to do. It's the nano, I'm assuming? Even if not, it should be the same procedure. Okay, get your iPod, turn the hold switch on, then off, and then hold the center and menu key for about 5-6 seconds. This should perform a hard reset on the machine. Hope this helps!

Your problem has nothing to do with your computer. My dad's iPod did the same thing. If you read your manual that came with it, read the section that is called "Troubleshooting." It will have instructions on what to do for a frozen iPod. You will have to do a hard-reset.

You could have put it on hold. There is a switch at the top of you Ipod that says hold.
