It seems to me that the Gulf coast is being ignored yet again by our government. 110 billion in aid for the gulf coast and over 300 billion spent in Iraq with many more billions being spent and asked for. And it seems that most of the people in Iraq don't want us there. I feel that Iraq will go through a civil war wether we stay 5 yrs. or 30 yrs.. So shouldn't we be spending that money to help our own citizens?

At least you see results in Iraq. 110 billion later and what have they to show for it...

I agree 100%. And whether you're liberal or conservative, democrat or republican, there is nobody in this country that can present a valid argument as to why we're spending BILLIONS to rebuild Iraq when half of New Orleans looks like Katrina hit last week, and while hundreds of thousands are still displaced. Our top priority should be on taking care of ourselves first. The rest of the world should ALWAYS be a distant second. Good question!

Today, the president is visiting the area to address that that problem. No one seems to be comfortable about the way the recovery is being conducted.

Also, there are questions why the insurance companies are not paying rightful claims etc.
