How does a person find rental housing out in the middle of nowhere. I am starting a job later this month that is located in between Conroe and Cleveland Texas. (It is a therapeutic placement facility, thus the remote location). I want to live in a house, and I need it to be cheap. That pretty much wipes out ALL the apartment complexes and homes in any nearby town and limits my on-line searching ability a LOT. I'm not disappointed though because I know that I am more likely to find the little shacks in the middle of nowhere will be cheaper, and quaint, and I can get a dog and keep my cat, as well as being centrally located to about 5 bigger towns, including Houston, and VERY close to my work.

I can't find ANY links to random landlords in the boonies out there. All I get is snotty apartment buildings. Can you direct me in a search or drop some names?

I would call the Chamber of Commerce in the town where you are going. If it is a small town, I bet they know who is renting. OR you could call a local real estate agent, They also usually know who is renting. Good Luck!
