when i went to see my class 12 results in a internet centre , the administrator says i need to wait . then other person brings a round /circle like device(i dont know what to call) & made some settings with that. then he browsed & told results . what is that ? it is server carrying class 12 results.if so why thru some websites we cant get result r not ?if people having internet connection @ home means did they able to see result from home or they have to buy a server like device.

well you can check your results from home, if u have internet connection at home.
that device may be a router/modem which is used to connect ur system to the internet.
any way, that device doesn't contain any results, the results sit on some remote server, and u access the server just like u accessed yahoo answers. type in ur roll no and get the results.

Yes, Satya said it right. Your result is on the server not on any particular device available at any cafe. You can fetch the result at your home too. You just need to know the correct way and URL.
